Upgrade System
Unlike refined items, only weapons, clothes, gloves, and shoes can be upgraded. As long as you meet the class requirements and have upgrade items (Tin, Black Steel, Dark Steel, Steel Of Eternity) and Silver Coins, you can upgrade items regardless of the type or gender. Upgraded weapons will have increased damage, upgraded clothes defense, upgraded gloves enhanced chance to hit, and upgraded shoes enhanced chance to dodge. Item options will increase when the item is successfully upgraded. But when the upgrade fails, the options will be decreased by one level or the item will disappear altogether. NPCs for Item Upgrade - Smithy: Weapons - Clothing Store: Clothes, Gloves, Shoes

Upgrade Items: Dropped by all monsters. - Tin : 3% Upgrade - Black Steel : 6% Upgrade - Dark Steel : 9% Upgrade - Steel Of Eternity : 12% Upgrade

Upgrade Effects Type Upgrade Items Effects Weapons Tin, Black Steel, Dark Steel, Steel Of Eternity Increased defense when upgrade is successful (Incremental) Clothes Tin, Black Steel, Dark Steel, Steel Of Eternity Enhanced chance to hit when upgrade is successful (Incremental) Gloves Tin, Black Steel, Dark Steel, Steel Of Eternity Enhanced chance to hit when upgrade is successful (Incremental) Shoes Tin, Black Steel, Dark Steel, Steel Of Eternity Enhanced chance to dodge when upgrade is successful (Incremental)

Maximum Upgrade Percentage: 120% - Ex: When a weapon with 100 Damage reaches 120% upgrade, the total damage of the weapon will be 220 (100 + 120 = 220).

Possible Results of Upgrade Attempts - Upgrade Successful: The upgrade percentage increases incrementally. - Upgrade Failed: Upgrade percentage is decreased by 3%. It will not be decreased if there was no upgraded percentage. - Item Destruction: The item will disappear.

Upgrade Success/Failure Rates - Upgrade Success Rate (%): {103 - ( Previous Upgrade Percentage + Current Upgrade Percentage )} + [1 per 100 luck] * Fixed at 100% when the success rate is over 100 * Fixed at 5% when the success rate is less than 5 - Item Destruction Rate (%) = {(Previous Upgrade Percentage + Current Upgrade Percentage)} - 57 - [1 per 100 luck] * Fixed at 0% when item destruction rate is below 0 * Exception: When ( Previous Upgrade Percentage + Current Upgrade Percentage ) is more than 57 Please keep in mind that there is at least 1% that the item will be destroyed even if the Item Destruction Rate is 0%.

Tips - The cash item Anti-damage Charm prevents the item from being destroyed when upgrade fails. - How to use Anti-damage Charm: [Ctrl + Left Mouse Button]-> 'Use [Anti-damage Charm] once' shown on top of the screen. - When a Anti-damage Charm is used, the message 'Anti-damage Charm has been used' will appear on the system info window. - Anti-damage Charm only prevents the item from being destroyed when upgrade fails. (In other words, it doesn't affect the results and success/failure rates.) * Upgrade stones are generally dropped by monsters, but you can also obtain them by completing a quest or buy them with the Upgrade Exchange Certificate sold by the gamble NPC.

Refine

Among the items dropped by monsters, only the ones with the refine option can be refined. Unlike item upgrade, there only 2~3 refine options but not as significant as upgrade options. Refine NPCs - Smithy: Weapons and Accessories - Clothing Store: Clothes, Gloves, Shoes

Refine Effects Item Type Effects Weapons Increased Damage (Incremental) Accessories Increased Elemental Defense (Incremental) Clothes Enhanced Chance to Dodge (Incremental) Gloves Increased Defense (Incremental) Shoes Increased Defense (Incremental)

When an item is refined once, its option will be increased while the level requirement does not change. So refined items are very useful for low level players. Success, failure, and destruction rates vary according to the item level and the number the item was refined.

Items can be refined up to 14 times

Items can be leveled up by the almighty NPCs in the almighty castle of each class. Level-Up Requirements 1) You need to have 100 contribution points to increase the level of your item. (It's because that's how much contribution points you need to enter the Almighty Castle by using the 'Allow Entrance' menu while chatting with the upholder of each class.) 2) Only the characters whose level is higher than the item level after its level is increased can increase the level of an item. (Ex: When attempting to increase the level of item from 95 to 105, the character level must be higher than 105.) 3) The item must have been upgrade by at least 12% in before its level is increased.

You have 1/6 chance to get the item you want, but sometimes you get the same item back. (Cloaks and upgraded/crafted items cannot be exchanged.)
